International Prostate Symptom Score (I-PSS)

Scientific Editing: Editorial Team of ISUD website

Many men present urinary problems, such as urinary frequency (diurnal and nocturnal), dysuria (painful urination), urinary urgency and other urological symptoms.

These problems are more common in males, due to the increase in the size of prostate gland, i.e. Benign Prostate Hypertrophy that occurs in the fifth decade of men’s life. If you also have some symptoms, take a quick test by answering the questionnaire that follows.

It is called International Prostate Symptoms Score, IPSS and is used worldwide to assess the severity of prostate symptoms.

Answer the questions and your final score will automatically come out.

Score up to 7 means mild symptoms; as long as symptoms do not affect your daily life, you could delay visiting your Urologist.

However, if your final score is over 7, you should visit your Urologist (8-19=moderate symptoms, >20=severe symptoms) .
